2020 has truly been a crazy year, filled with change, fear, anxiety, opportunity, loss & a whole lot of love. If I’m being honest, 2020 has helped me make some pretty significant changes to my lifestyle. I have spent my time in quarantine trying to improve my physical and mental health. This has involved changing my diet, by cutting out unhealthy processed foods that make my body feel gluggy and gross. I have also increased the amount of physical activity I do, as this makes me feel better on the inside through to the outside.
All my close friends & family know that I have always been a sucker for a good chocolate thickshake, but I know how bad it is for you to consume this much sugar and milk on a daily basis. Therefore, I experimented around with some ingredients I had a home, in an attempt to create a guilt-free chocolate smoothie and guess what; I have found THE perfect combination of ingredients that are so healthy and make you fill full for hours.

Healthy Thick Chocolate & Banana Smoothie
Serves 1
Total Time: 5 minutes at the most
Delicious Scale: 1000000+
INGREDIENTS:

1 ½ frozen bananas
175ml of unsweetened almond milk or the milk of your choice
½ tbsp of unsweetened natural/organic cacao powder
4-5 pitted dates
1 tbsp chia seeds
½ tbsp flax seeds
TIPS: If you like your smoothies thick and icy use less milk. If you like your smoothies runnier use more milk or water. This particular recipe shows you how to make a thick & icy smoothie.
Try to add the ingredients into your blender in the order they are listed in above, because sometimes when you add the dry ingredients first the seeds stick to the bottom of your blender cup which is just annoying.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Add all of the ingredients into the blender of your choice (I use my NutriBullet) and blend together.
2. Serve in a glass with a straw and enjoy.
Optional: Sprinkle some cinnamon on top.
So delicious & nutritious, the best guilt-free alternative to a chocolate thickshake!
